{Good to Know}: Slash Snacking in Half!

double good to know!

because this helps curb snacking and encourages spontaneous exercising.  when office workers hit the treadmill for 15 minutes before working at their desks, they nibbled about 50 percent  fewer chocolate kisses available to them than did those who simply rested for 15 minutes.

it may be that the reward centers of the brain that drive snacking are less activated after exercise.  the mood boost you get from working out might also subconsciously short-circuit your desire for a high-cal pick-me-up.

so next time you get home from work instead of heading for the cookie jar (which you really should have ditched by now) try grabbing a bottle of water and jumping on the track for a few minutes or just speed walking down the street for a bit.

don’t knock it until you try it.
